Features and app availability may vary by region.Instead, it's for those who can afford to budget for the areas where Microsoft has clearly focused the most. Like other members of the Surface family, this newest model isn't necessarily for everyone. If, however, you're willing to spend a little extra to treat your fingertips to a fantastic keyboard and trackpad, or on elevated industrial design that looks and feels a cut above that of most similarly-priced notebooks, the Surface Laptop Go makes more sense. As it is, I feel like you have to accept spending at least $700 to get a notebook with sufficient headroom for Windows 10, and that in turn could get you better-spec'd (but less visually pleasing) alternatives from Windows OEMs, or indeed a couple of Chromebooks with more than enough power for day to day school or office tasks. Had the $550 model come with even just 128GB of SSD rather than underwhelming eMMC storage, it would've been much more convincing. On that front, the Surface Laptop Go rises somewhat to the challenge, but it's not a clean sweep.
